Can there be another reason?
Hi there,
Call me a skeptic(sorry it's life's experience) but have you noticed the work that is being done at the airport.......I know, I know they "say" it is for safety reasons. But! Let's see, longer runways, more lights, hmmm. Yes! Safety, but any chance we can start landing some bigger jets?
Keep in mind that 18 months ago, a county employee told me this would be the next silicon valley? Hmmm, gambling, airport--if you build it, they will come. We have already seen some huge jets landing there in the past few years and yes, we have HEARD them as well. Hmmmmmm, what say you?

Ray Burton mentioned legalized gambling recently as a new "revenue stream" for the state. Funspot... the dog track. Those places will grow and flourish. The airport? More traffic? Probably. Where have the citizens been for the past 3 years while the budget committee debated this?
Gilford Annie, it's too late now. You and your friends should have done something while the lone voices in the wilderness tried to stop it.
It's a very good thing, however, for the local construction workers-- and I support that.

This area... silicon valley?
I don't see it.
This "county employee" probably believed the Lakes Business Park would turn a profit too!

I sold & moved from Gilford Meadows because of the noise level generated by landings and takeoffs at the laconia(?) airport. Between the jets and the off-course private pilots banking (at a low altitude) over Gilford Meadows I no longer enjoyed residing at that location.
My contact with Ann Cooper regarding the off-course pilots was not satisfactory.
And when the flights came in (or took off)
at 2-3 AM (pilots can activate the lights by radio and come and go at anytime, day or night), I decided to move and get some of the peace and quiet I was looking for when I moved to Gilford.
